Celebrating 25 Years of The Seaside Way

Celebrating 25 Years of The Seaside Way

Founded in 1996, The Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now one of the oldest surviving public charter schools in the state of Florida. For the past 25 years, our ambitious staff, involved parents and supportive community have led the Seaside Schools, comprised of the Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School, to be consistently recognized as leaders at both state and national achievement levels.

Our continued growth and success of The Seaside Way reaffirms what our charter pioneers understood a quarter-century ago. Led by continual support, exploration, accountability, scholarship, independence, dreams and effort, students cultivate their diversity and begin to understand ways that they can make unique contributions to society.

Admitted through a public lottery system and pursuant to the current policy of the Walton County School District, fifth through eighth grade students at the Seaside Neighborhood School explore a developmentally responsive education. The curriculum connects learning to the students’ community and their daily lives, enabling them to discover individual abilities, interests and learning styles.

Currently located on the campus of Northwest Florida State College, Seacoast Collegiate High School serves ninth through twelfth grades and offers students the ability to graduate high school with an Associate’s Degree.

The Seaside Schools, funded by the state of Florida with supplement by the Seaside School Foundation, uphold a standard of excellence, where an emphasis on academic achievement is complemented by a concern for each learner’s personal growth and intellectual, aesthetic and psychological development.

The 2020-2021 school year marks the Silver Anniversary milestone for the Seaside Schools, and we look forward to proudly sharing our ambition, mission and success with our community for many years to come!
