Dr. Scott O'Prey, Principal

After graduating from the State University of New York, College at Cortland, Dr. O'Prey began his teaching career in Houston, Texas as a junior high social studies teacher. He also taught Government, United States and World History, Geography and Economics at the high school level. He completed his Masters degree at Sam Houston State University in Texas and went on to serve as an assistant principal at the middle school and high school levels. During his first principal assignment he finished his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston. Seacoast Collegiate High School is his seventh principal position leading schools Kindergarten through 12th grade. Before coming to Seaside School, he led a K-8 charter school in Georgia for four years where he served as principal and superintendent of the local education agency. Dr. O'Prey was named Head of School for Seaside School, Inc. and Principal of Seacoast Collegiate High School in June 2017. Dr. O'Prey may be contacted via email at opreys@seasideschools.net.

Dr. Holley Handley, Director of Advising and Student Success

Holley Handley received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Auburn University and received her Doctorate in Administrative Studies: Curriculum and Instructional Design from The University of West Florida. Her professional experience includes working with Merck Pharmaceuticals as an executive professional representative, University of Georgia- Warnell School of Forestry as a genetic researcher, Walton County school District in various teaching roles, and Northwest Florida State College as an advisor, campus director, and adjunct professor. She is published in the peer reviewed scientific journals: Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Journal of Crustacean Biology. She has presented in several national professional conferences including American Society for Cell biologists, International Society for Performance Improvement, and Association for Educational communications and Technology. She is the current Director of Advising and Student Success of Seacoast Collegiate High School. Holley thoroughly enjoys being able to work directly with students, parents, teachers, and administrators on behalf of each student’s personal growth and academic success.

Ms. Lori Atlas, Administrative Assistant

Lori Atlas began her career working in the school system in 2005 as a substitute teacher. She quickly transitioned to a teaching assistant in a first grade classroom. In 2006 she began working as the bookkeeper at both an elementary school and middle school.  She and her children moved to Florida from North Carolina in 2013 to become member of the Seacoast Collegiate High School family. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida and is pursuing a dual Master's Degree in Public Administration and Criminal Justice at UCF.

Tanya Acevedo received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Universidad del Turabo in Puerto Rico. She began her teaching career in Puerto Rico where she taught for 10 years before moving to the United States. She taught middle school Spanish in Royse City ISD, in the state of Texas, where she was selected the district Teacher of the Year.  This is Ms. Acevedo 1st year at Seacoast Collegiate High School. She teaches Spanish 1 Honors, Spanish 2 Honors, Spanish 3 Honors and Spanish 4 Honors.  When not teaching Ms. Acevedo enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and reading.

Ms. Katrina Black, Math and Physics

Katrina Black graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of West Florida. She began her teaching career in Georgia where she taught for one year before moving back to the panhandle. Back in Florida, she taught high school Math and Physics for three years in Bay County. This is Ms. Black’s fourth year since joining the Seaside faculty as the Math Instructor for the newly opened Seacoast Collegiate High School. She teaches Algebra 1 Honors, Geometry Honors, Physics 1 Honors, dual enrolled Pre-Calculus, and College Algebra.

Kasi Coulther received her Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of North Florida.  She joined Seacoast Collegiate High School in 2017 and teaches AP US History, US History Honors, World History Honors, AP Psychology, and AP Human Geography.

Mr. Christopher Eby, Technology and Math

Chris Eby is from Blountstown. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Chipola College and his Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from Florida State University. He is certified in Math K-6, Math 6-12, and ESE K-12. Mr. Eby taught in Liberty County for seven years. He loves math, sports, computers/technology, and helping students grow into successful adults. Mr. Eby currently teaches Algebra 1, Financial Algebra, Internet Business Associates, and AP Computer Science Principles.

Cary Hall received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Rollins College.  She teaches English I Honors, English II Honors, AP Language and Composition.  Ms. Hall previously taught at St. Paul Preparatory School.  She has lived in four countries and visited over 23 others.  When not teaching Ms. Hall enjoys Traveling, eating well, and reading.

Ms. Faith Saganek, Art

Faith Saganek grew up in the Detroit area and received her B.A. in Art from the American College for the Applied Arts. She then spent 1.5 years concentrating in photography at Portfolio Center in Atlanta. Ms. Saganek recently received her MFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. As StarCutterStudio in the cities of Atlanta and Chicago, she and her husband created not only photographs but also models and props for specialty installations and advertising. Ms. Saganek has taught Magnet Photography and Art in Atlanta at a high school for visual and performing arts where her students received numerous awards and scholarships.

Ms. Saganek’s artwork has appeared on book and magazine covers, in annual reports, catalogs, trade publications, TV commercials and in public venues. Her client list includes: IBM, Coca Cola, Georgia Pacific, Russell Athletic Wear, Turner Publishing, Neenah Paper, Karastan Carpets, Chicago Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, UPS and The U.S. Marine Corps.
